October 30, 2009

Among 309 candidates who have undergone scrupulous interviews and screenings, 39 Filipina nurses emerged successful for deployment in Amman, Jordan.

Al Essra Hospital representatives arrived in Manila in October 9 to conduct selection of Filipina Nurses. The team was led by Al Essra Nursing director Dr. Mervat Radwan Arar, Emergency room head nurse Mrs. Amani Abdullah and Administrative nurse Mr. Khalid Abu Quraik who came in partnership with Japan Maruko International.

Manila applicants had their arduous written exams and interview on Oct 10 and Oct 11 at Legend Hotel, Mandaluyong City while provincial applicants had theirs at Capitol Complex Lingayen, Pangasinan in Oct. 12.

Meanwhile, Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino, who was busy distributing relief goods to the victims of Pepeng in Eastern Pangasinan when the team arrived in the complex, showed support to Al Hessra and JMK by providing transportation to the latter in conducting the selection in his province

Braving the calamity

Despite threats of typhoon Pepeng, 31 Nurses in their white Nursing uniform braved the flood and showed up to take the Qualifying Examination and Panel Interview while 4 Nurses from Pangasinan signed their contract in the afternoon with the Al Essra Hospital in the presence of their parents.

On the 14th of October, the 39 selected Nurses gathered at the JMK office for the briefing conducted by the Al Essra representatives regarding hospital policies. This was followed by explanation of contracts which was later signed after all queries have been entertained.

The last step

The Al Essra representatives departed Manila for Amman in the afternoon of Oct 15, 2009. With them are the passport copies, Curriculum Vitaes and signed contracts of the 39 Nurses. Once in Amman, the hospital management will send the names of the first batch of 15 Nurses who will fly to Amman. The rest of the 39 Nurses will follow about a month after the first batch. The hospital will begin processing the work visas of the selected Nurses in preparation for their arrival in Amman.

The Al Essra delegation were impressed with the Nurses they interviewed as they showed confidence, have good command of English and knowledgeable in their field of expertise making them leave the country in great confidence for hiring only the best.

Meanwhile, JMK is in hope that these Filipina Nurses will bring pride and joy to the Philippines as they gain world class experience in their chosen profession. JMK is glad for contributing in opening opportunities to Filipinos. This first batch of Filipina Nurses will pave the way for more opportunities to other Filipina Nurses in the near future, as they make their mark with their professionalism and their trademark smile that Filipinas are noted for.
